My goal for 2014 is to improve my swimming and biking, and complete the Double Mussel and REV3 Poconos 70.3 races. I'm in the process of moving from Rochester to Albany, and am looking forward to making some new friends!

Five simple workout apps
As I've noted before I'm trying to add weight training back into my routine. I'm doing the balance training, which I'm getting the hang of. But I wanted something simple to add into my routine.
I'm also trying to become a proficient smart phone user.
I downloaded the Daily Arm Workout and have done it a couple times. I really like it. All the moves are simple and can be done with basic hand weights. It also lets you choose how long the routine should be.
This was the first app I paid for and it was worth it.
So today I downloaded the four sister apps from Amazon: Daily Cardio Workout, Daily Butt Workout, Daily Leg Workout and Daily Ab Workout. I'm not quite sure how I'll use them in my routine yet but I'll figure it out.
At $0.99 a pop these are the first apps I've paid money for. We'll see how it goes!

How Android makes my life better
I'm a little late entering the smartphone world, but thanks to my parents I'm the proud new owner of the HTC Amaze. (Slightly off-topic post for today. There is some relevance!)
I've been addicted to the show Alcatraz, where prison inmates magically reappear in society after they mysteriously disappeared 50 years ago. In one scene, someone is trying to explain to one of them what the Internet was.
As I'm sitting there playing with my phone, trying to figure out what one of the songs was on Glee (Verdict: Lenny Kravitz, Stand), I'm thinking: "Man, just wait til he sees one of these things."
I was slightly terrified it at first. But fast forward one week and I can't live without it.
I've barely browsed the Internet on it. I've only made a few calls. What really makes it worth it are the apps. And every single one of these either came with the phone or was a free download.
It's made my life a lot better, and a little bit worse.
WAYS THIS CRAZY TECHNOLOGY HAS IMPROVED MY LIFE (In alphabetical order, because that's how my phone operates)
